Reasons To Smile

Sid was walking back from the store with his twelve-year-old daughter one evening. His wife had instructed him to buy some canned beans for dinner. That his daughter was glued to her mobile phone instead of talking to her father worried him. Sid thought about his childhood. The conversations he used to have with his dad on their expeditions. Conversations that shaped his life, and made him who he is now. He knew such things are unlikely with the current generation, who can’t be seen without their phones. As they were walking towards the parking lot, they saw a car back up rapidly and streak away. It was their own car.

They started running towards it, but it was gone. He quickly called the police, while his daughter created a scene in no time. Amidst all this commotion, Sid was secretly happy. He was spending time with his daughter finally. Something both of them would remember for a very long time.

  1. Great story! It is so true that the younger generation is constantly looking at their phones rather than engaging in what is around them. Sad though, that his car had to be stolen to get his daughter to engage with him. Welcome to the FFfAW challenge! We are happy you have joined us!
